Title: It's Hot!!!
Post by: KatieS on September 05, 2021, 05:52:28 pm
Is there anything we can do to keep the landlord from turning the heat on September 15th (it's been a killer summer ofr heat!).  My lanldord says he has to turn it on because of a bylaw or something.

Landlords do not have to turn the heat on if it's warm outside.  Check out the Landlord's Responsibilities described here https://www.toronto.ca/city-government/public-notices-bylaws/bylaw-enforcement/not-enough-heatother-vital-services/

--> If the outdoor temperature is high enough that the building would be 21 degrees Celsius without the heat on, you can turn the heat off. You can use your judgement when heating your building in the “shoulder season” (from September 15 to October 15 and May 1 to June 1).
